My TBR E-Book Pit has officially evolved from a cute, “innocent digital library” into a full-blown abyss of unread e-books. Seriously, I’m starting to suspect it has its own Wi-Fi signal. Kindle, Google Books, and PDFs are silently judging me — some of them have been lurking in my library since 2017, quietly gathering digital dust while I pretend I don’t see them.
But fear not, dear readers! I’ve decided it’s finally time to start rescuing these long-neglected digital treasures before the apocalypse — or before they completely take over my cloud storage. Here are 7 e-books festering in my pit that I swear I’ll finally read this year… probably.
While I love a good paperback or hardcover (there’s nothing like the feel of paper between your fingers), let’s be honest: e-books are just way more accessible. If you’re as voracious a reader as I am, you simply don’t have time to trek to a bookstore every day. And, in my case, living abroad makes it tricky to find public libraries with giant selections of English print fiction… let’s not even get into the whole censorship thing. So, e-books it is for me!
Along with this digital convenience comes the never-ending lists. I have a TBR e-book wish list. I have a Kindle Unlimited e-book list for all those titles I’ll definitely get to one day. There’s my current book club reading list to track what we’ve conquered and what’s coming up next. I have a birthday gifts list for, well, birthdays for others. I have a care package list for my daughter, who reads almost as much as I do, and being a poor student, I indulge her. I have a cookbook list, self-explanatory. Then there’s my NetGalley ARCs list. Goodreads does a decent job keeping these lists mostly organized — and yes, I have a “currently reading” list too (it says I am “currently reading” 42 books, which is almost laughable but probably true).
And don’t even get me started on my other TBR (To Be Reviewed) list — that deserves its own entire post.
I digress.
So here we are: the TBR E-Book Pit, a sprawling, digital labyrinth of ambition, procrastination, and guilt. Some of these books will change my life. Others will make me question my life choices. Either way, I’m diving in — one e-book rescue mission at a time.

So there you have it: my TBR E-Book Pit, a chaotic digital dungeon of unread treasures, guilty pleasures, and whispered promises of “I’ll get to it soon.” Some of these books will make me laugh, cry, or question my life choices. Others will make me wonder why on Earth I added them to my Kindle in the first place.
But here’s the thing — the TBR Pit isn’t just a graveyard of unread e-books. It’s a testament to curiosity, ambition, and unapologetic book-hoarding. It’s where stories wait patiently (and sometimes judgmentally) for their moment in the spotlight.
I’m making a pact with myself: rescue, read, and revel.
I’ll dive into each e-book, savor every plot twist, and maybe even share a few of my favorite disasters along the way. And who knows — maybe my TBR Pit will shrink a little, my Kindle will breathe easier, and my inner reader will finally feel vindicated.
Now it’s your turn: what’s lurking in your TBR Pit? Share your most tragic, most hilarious, or most shameful unread treasures in the comments — misery loves company, after all.
Until next time, happy rescuing, and may your digital library finally get the attention it deserves.
